About one year ago, I installed TB on a lenovo w500 laptop. It worked smoothly - until a few weeks ago. Now, when starting it up, it hangs for up to 2 minutes and each time one clicks on a mail or a menu, this repeats. And in many cases, the message: "Keine Rückmeldung" pops up. As it is now, its no longer usefull.
Because, initially it worked, there are two possibilities:
- A new update caused the problem (but only on this w7.64 computer - on my other computers with WXPpro it still works smoothly.)
- At about the same time where these problems startet, I had installed Bitdefender. But this may be a random correlation.
Digging further into it, I found that Bitdefender had multiple copies of a file name something with 123..DVD (I do not remember the correct name) in its list of programms that are allowed to run. I kicked them all out. When launching TB again, it reported, that the lightening add on version 2.6.6 is incompatible (it had not reported this before) and I allowed it to search for a new update of this add on. It found version 3.3 and installed it. Then playing around with TB, I firstly had the impression, its better now. But only for a short time, then it began again "Keine Rückmeldung".
Next then was to kill BitDefender. It helped! But running a PC without virus protection is not a good idea and hence a restarted the laptop, bringing Bitdefender up again. Strange enough - TB now works smoothly. I do not understand it, but there are more things between Earth and heaven than man understands....
